What happens after I see the counsellor (family consultant)?

After you see the counsellor (family consultant) and they write the Family Report, your parents will come to the Court while the judge listens to what they have to say. This might take a few days.

It can be a hard time for children and families while they wait to find out what the judge will decide. Even after the court case when everyone knows what the judge has decided, some people in the family might not feel happy.

Judges don't always decide the way children what them to. But they try to make the best decision after taking everything into account.

There might be some more changes in your family after the court case but in a while things should settle down.

Sometimes families come back to see a family consultant to get some help about getting used to the new changes.
