What happens when I see a counsellor (family consultant)?

The counsellor (family consultant) will spend some time with you alone and together with other members of your family, talking and playing.

You do not have to say anything you don't want to.

You will not be asked to choose between mum and dad.

You do not make the decisions.

It would be good to let the counsellor (family consultant) know what you think and feel about your family and what arrangements would work for you.

The counsellor (family consultant) knows you are a special person with your own thoughts and feelings.

Tell the counsellor (family consultant) if you are frightened or if you are afraid that if you say something you will upset your mum and dad.
