Before you file - pre-action procedure for financial cases (prescribed brochure)
This brochure provides information for people considering applying to the Family Court for financial orders.
In particular, it provides information about pre-action procedures required before starting a case.
Pre-action requirements also apply to parenting disputes. For more information see the separate brochure Before you file – pre-action procedure for parenting cases.
* This is a prescribed brochure. When certain applications are filed, the Rules require the Court to give specific brochures to the person filing the application (the applicant). The Rules also require the applicant to provide specific brochures, along with other court documents, to the other party (the respondent). These are known as 'prescribed' brochures.
