User Guide to eFiling Response to Initiating Applications in Family Law (Family Law Courts)
This user guide is to assist people who wish to electronically file a Response to Initiating Application in either the Federal Magistrates Court or the Family Court via the Commonwealth Courts Portal (the Portal), located at www.comcourts.gov.au
This user guide describes the process for electronically submitting a Response to an Initiating Application with the Family Court of Australia, pursuant to Rules 9.01, 9.02 and 4.18 of the Family Law Rules 2004 and a Response with the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia, pursuant to Rules 4.03, 4.04 and 4.05 of the Federal Magistrates Court Rules 2001.
Before completing the Response you should read the fact sheet Applying to the Court for orders. Although this fact sheet is primarily directed at assisting possible applicants, it provides useful information in identifying what orders you are seeking.
