I need to prove we are divorced - how do I do that?
I need a divorce replacement or proof of divorce?
The divorce document you received from the court is an official and original proof of divorce. If you require proof of your divorce you will receive a document that is the same as we issued at the time your divorce was finalised. If you are a third party and require proof of divorce you will receive a divorce certificate. All divorce replacements are official and original divorce documents.
How do I get a divorce replacement or proof of divorce?
If you e-filed your application for divorce through the Commonwealth Courts Portal you can log in and print a divorce order. All divorce orders contain an electronic seal and signature. You can use this document to prove your divorce.

Click on "view orders" and print your divorce
If your divorce was finalised after 13 February 2010 you can register and log into the Commonwealth Courts Portal and print a divorce as shown above. You will need to know your file number and client ID. If you do not know these details please email divorce.order@familylawcourts.gov.au and include your full name, date of birth and name of your ex-spouse so we can search our case management system and provide you with these details.
Otherwise or if you are a third party wanting proof of divorce and you are certain there was a divorce granted, you should complete the Proof of Divorce form and send with payment as advised on the form.
If you are a third party wanting proof of divorce and you are unsure whether a divorce took place, please email divorce.order@familylawcourts.gov.au and include the full name of the parties and as much information as possible including dates of birth, date of marriage etc.
